El Alambique can be reached from Málaga airport in just under two hours by car. Cheap car hire companies in Málaga are Delpaso or Marbesol.

From the first point, the road climbs steeply up the hill, then descends slightly. Then it goes slightly up and down again. Before the road climbs slightly for the 3rd time, a road on the right descends steeply at an acute angle. I recommend driving down this road in reverse.

Get there without a car
The nearest railway station is in Ronda, but buses from Ronda to Algatocín only run once a day. The departure times are constantly changing between 15:40 and 17:00.
Carpooling from Málaga to Gaucín, Cortes de la Frontera or Ronda can be found via BlaBlaCar, for example.
There is also a bus from Málaga Airport to Estepona. This is suitable for latecomers who can be picked up in Estepona. Estepona is located by the sea about 50 minutes by car from the holiday home.
In my experience, it is a good idea to book the bus ticket as soon as you arrive at the airport. Tickets can be sold out 10 minutes before departure. You cannot buy tickets on the bus. If online booking does not work, you can buy the ticket at the counter to the right of the airport exit.
The Avanza bus stop is located diagonally to the right on the road from the airport exit. The journey time from Málaga airport to Estepona is 1h 10min and costs around 10-15€.
