El Alambique

Casa rural

Things to consider before booking

The property is located in the countryside outside the white village of Algatocín. There is a lively nature here with many insects and other animals. We recommend keeping food that attracts insects in the fridge and always washing tables and worktops well, otherwise ant trails will develop through the house within hours.

Environmental protection is important to us, so we try to avoid using poison as far as possible. In the houses there are mosquito nets on the windows and ultrasonic devices for the power socket to keep insects and rodents away. Despite these measures, it can sometimes happen that mosquitoes, ants or wasps enter the house.

Please only book if you have read the description of the houses and the surrounding area carefully, have made a conscious decision to stay in the countryside and agree to the liveliness that comes with it.

The pool is reserved for the guests residing in the mill. We ask that you wash off sun cream, cosmetics and sweat before using the pool so that we can minimize the use of chlorine.

Use of the pool is at your own risk. Please take care of your children! Do not let the children go to the pool alone and supervise them while swimming.

Due to the climate, the daily rhythms in Spain and Portugal are different to those in Germany, France or the UK. For example, the lunch break in Spain is usually between 2 and 4 pm. Dinner is usually not served in restaurants until 8pm, with Spaniards often not eating until 10pm. In Spain, a night's sleep can be assumed from midnight.

In order to reconcile the needs of the different cultures, we have set a night's rest between 11 pm and 7 am as house rules. It can happen that noises from the neighbours can be heard until midnight. However, this rarely happens.

In Spain and Portugal, however, you often hear dogs barking at night. Spaniards and Portuguese are used to it. Germans sometimes find it annoying. Unfortunately, we have no control over our neighbours' dogs. We ask our guests to take precautions with earplugs.

The boiler for hot water and the hob are operated with gas cylinders. If a cylinder becomes empty, guests can change it themselves:

1. turn the black lever.

2. pull the black ring under the top upwards and remove the top.

3. remove the seal from the new gas cylinder.

4. put on the attachment, pull up the black ring and press the attachment down at the same time. The attachment should now be firmly seated on the gas cylinder.

5. Move the black lever again.

If it is not possible to fit the attachment firmly, the black lever is probably in the wrong position.

Gas cylinders are available for changing. We will be happy to help you change them.

We wish you a pleasant stay at our finca! If you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact us.
